Scripture Reading:

Devotional Reading:
It was almost 2,000 years ago when Jesus told His disciples He would return. They asked questions of how will we know? Where are you going? Can we come with you? Of course today, no one knows the exact date, (In fact, if you encounter someone who makes such a claim, you will know you are hearing from a false prophet!) But the Bible does give us some guidance. In Matthew, the Bible tells us the end will occur after "all nations" have heard the gospel. heard the what. the Gospel? So what is the Gospel...It is the simply fact that Jesus the Christ, died for your sins and mine. He had to do this since it is sin that separates us from the presence of a Holy God. Of course it does not stop there, after His death He rose from the grave to conquer the hold and power of sin in our lives. Thereby He ushered us into an age of redemption and salvation based upon His completed work and not ours. We just have to believe and profess that he is Lord as we establish not just a head relationship with Jesus, but a heart relationship with Jesus. The Greek word for nations, "ethnos," does not mean the nations you see on a map. "Ethnos" refers to all the people groups on earth. Can you even begin to imagine the various people groups on the earth? How many have never heard that Jesus is Lord? I do not know, but I do know that there are peoples or nations in the world we live that have never had the opportunity to profess or deny Christ; that being the case, the work of the church is not yet complete. As we are know in the 21st century, with the Internet and the web has taken our world by storm. There is the opportunity to get the Gospel out by electronic means to every people group/nation on the face of the earth. Sooner rather than later the mission of the church will be accomplished. At that time, the end of the church age will come. We will be called to meet Him in the air with the dead in Christ preceding us. The way things look, it could be very soon. Maranatha!
