"Hidden Blades"

Scripture Reading:
1 Corinthians 4:5 (HCSBO)   Therefore don't judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.

Devotion & Meditation:
The ceiling fan in my bedroom is on constantly during the summer months. One day I stopped it, only to observe the dirt that collected on the outside edges. It was almost embarrassing to think that this fan had collected so much dirt and I had not cleaned it off. When the fan is spinning around, we don't see the dirt, but boy is it ever noticeable when we stop it.  Just because we don't see it does not mean it is not present.  Do we, in our lives, move at the pace of a ceiling fan? Is that what we were designed to do? I think not. I believe God placed us here to live life to the fullest and to begin to enjoy the abundant life He has promised us. There are times when we are called upon to stop and observe the wrong we might have done. We are called to be observant, and both to cleanse ourselves of sin and to entertain the power of the Holy Spirit, inviting Him to fill our lives.  I finally stepped upon a stool and cleaned the blades of the fan.  I can only imagine what I was breathing in, but then I noticed what I was missing...the dust.  Sometimes when we let things go too long.  We leave ourselves unattended and are more open to Satan's ways. Some of us are so sure of our Salvation because of osmosis, meaning we go to church all the time and do all these things for our  church, but we have never truly accepted Jesus Christ on faith.  Have we taken time to stop and observe our hidden sin?  Have we taken time to clean the blades of our lives.  Or are we going too fast to see it? Let us pause for a time of prayer to remove the old self and take on the new; let us take time to be with our God and make things right.  We nee to stop being human "doings" and just be:  be a human being and listen for that small voice of God as He reveals the hidden areas of our lives so we may walk abundantly in His leadership.

Keep the Son in your eyes and remember, "Win or lose; I want to make sure that I make God's name great."
