"No Matter When"

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 86:13 (HCSB)

For Your faithful love for me is great, and You deliver my life from the depths of Sheol.
Devotional Reading:
Mondays are one of those days where I came home from work and I am just exhausted. On Mondays, ministry usually goes from about 8am -10pm.  I’m not physically exhausted, but a there's not a whole lot left in the tank.  Life throws stuff at us so fast and in such large quantities that sometimes it feels like we’re incapable of handling it all. Silvia had her 2 year check-up for her operation.  Wow, I can hardly believe its been 2 years since Silvia selflessly donated her kidney.  (now there is a measure of love to speak about)."No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13). Anyways, before I digress, the point being in addition to everything else I was flying solo with two teenagers who of course wanted to eat.  Several weeks ago the icon in my truck came on indicating transmission issues, which led me to discover that we have a vehicle in great shape physical shape that will need a major repair.  I walked in through the kitchen door, a little before 9pm, which gave me a few minutes to get ready for the online study which starts at 9pm.  We'll no wife at home, one boy downstairs in the family room and a girl in the shower (imagine that) then out of the blue, here comes a little 9lb Shit-zhu just as crazy and excited as can be to see me.  He didn’t care about how rough of a day I’ve had. He didn’t care that I was tired. He didn’t care that I was hungry. He only wanted to see me. He only wanted me to pick him up and hold him. So I let him outside into our backyard to do his business, but he didn’t want to run around.  He came back to the door, and when I opned it, in he came wanting to jump up and get my attention.  That is what he does best, get my attention, he tries to lick my face when I pick him up as he snorts and sniffs.  He doesn’t care that his breath smells like something crawled into his mouth and died. He doesn’t care that I push him away. He just wants to show me that he loves and missed me.  God does the same for us. We spend time worrying about coming to God after we fix all of our “problems” instead of just coming to God and letting Him do a work in us. God wants us to know that He comes to us with that same excitement that "Teddy" shows when I get home. Our dog can hear our car door close and is celebrating before we even walk in the door. The next time you’re down and you realize you’ve trying to do it all on your own…remember my 9 pound Shitz-zhu and think about how excited God is for you to run back to Him.
