"More than We Deserve"
Scripture Reading:
1 John 4:10 (HCSB) His left hand is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
1 John 4:10 (HCSB) His left hand is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
Devotional Reading:
Would you say if I asked you to send your son or daughter to take the place of a convicted felon? That your son or daughter was going to take the punishment for the criminal who has admitted to committing a crime and is somewhat proud. Not only is your son or daughter taking the place of one criminal, but all criminals. Your son/daughter will be sentenced for all the crimes that will ever be committed. The robbery at Wal-mart where the criminals tried to steal a tv? Your beautiful little daughter will be punished. The person who embezzled millions of dollars, Bernie Madoff, through corporate fraud? Your innocent son will be behind bars for it. The terrorists that kill innocent lives every day in the name of their god? Your flesh and blood gets the death sentence. I love my children so much, I couldn't imagine submitting them to the hands of others from crimes they were innocent of. Knowing the feeling of the love that I have for my children makes me even more confused about how much God loves us. He loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for us. To take on your sin. To take on my sin. And to take on sin for all of us who don’t deserve forgiveness and grace. He loves you more than you can fathom; He loves us more than we deserve.
Keep the Son in your eyes,
