"Seeds of Betrayal"

Scripture Reading:
Lamentations 1:2  (HCSB)
Bet She weeps aloud during the night, with tears on her cheeks. There is no one to offer her comfort, not one from all her lovers. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies.

Devotional Reading:
This is a late edition of Friday's morning coffee.  Sorry I slept in to enjoy my day off.  I hope you did not feel betrayed by not getting your coffee first thing in the am, but I am confident you have felt feelings of betrayal at some point in your life.  We can be betrayed by our government, in fact we actually expect that to happen.  "We can't trust a politician or only trust them when their lips are not moving".  Both of these are statements of mistrust and betrayal.  Have you ever been betrayed like Jesus?  Betrayed by a friend so another can advance their cause!  As the statement from Lamentations reads, it hurts.  Your spirit is crushed.  You may tailspin into a depression, feeling immobile and unable to share or trust again with another person.  You may have thoughts of no one being able to comfort you and then the devil tweaks your feelings.  he ensures you that no one can be trusted and everyone is out to get you.  The pity party takes over and before you know it, the seeds of betrayal have not only been planted but begun to take root.  Shame on the betrayer, shame on the gossip or slanderer; you have to maintain your identity in Christ and move onward with the Lord.  Vengeance is mine says the Lord.  Let the Lord deal with those who have no respect for you!  Allow the Almighty to take those who do not respect your authority in Christ to His wood shed.  The prophet Hosea says this, "But they, like Adam, have violated the covenant; there they have betrayed Me."  See the Lord is well aware and poised to strike in His time.  Friend you have to stay the course and keep your allegiance.  I know this, "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord".

Keep the Son in your eyes,
