"Mirror...Be Prepared"

Scripture Reading:
Philippians 3:10  (HCSB)
My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

Devotional Reading:
The person we spend the most time with is our self, so we tend to be pretty interested in ourselves. I ask you: Do you really like yourself? Would you rather be somebody else? Are you realistic about your strengths and weaknesses?  Many of us will kid ourselves and lie to ourselves when we don't the person we've become.  Of course this is a transparent window to those around us; they see right through the lie and see us for who we really are!  Socrates gets credit for saying, "Know thyself," even though what he really said, was, "the unexamined life is not worth living." Either way, the message is clear. Knowing ourselves is a key to a meaningful life.  When people begin to pull away from us, when they begin to accept negative attitudes or chalk it up to "that's just so and so" they not only see us for who we have become but are intimidated and frighten of our reaction.  Let me go a step further. Since God is your Creator and He knows you better than anyone, why don't you get to know God personally? Then you'll get to know yourself--the real you--better than you ever could on your own. God gives us the way to know Him through Jesus and His Word. If you get to know Him, you'll come to know yourself and why you're here. You'll be on the road to a very meaningful life.  You may not like the person in the mirror, you may not like what they say or do, but friend the mirror was created by the Lord and the person in it "is fearfully and wonderfully made".  God did not nor does He make mistakes.  Embrace Him and embrace yourself...be prepared for what He reveals to you!

Keep the Son in your eyes,
