"Fruit Inspectors"

Devotional Reading:

Fruit on a tree is the result of what the tree can do. "Fruit of the Spirit" is what the Holy Spirit can do in a human. Our part is to be open, but the fruit is the result of the Holy Spirit's doings. As humans we have a philosophy of, "if you want something then push harder and work longer and you can get it." That may be true of things in this world but "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness," are out of this world, they are of God. We try to have more peace and joy by pushing harder in life. We need to retract from our earthly mind and start functioning in our spirit mind by surrendering to God.  They say you can judge other Christians by their "fruit". Since we are not to judge, we certainly can be "fruit inspectors", but be sure our own fruit passes inspection first ! God, I want and need the gifts that You have and control. In my weakness I do not deserve them but I do ask for Your forgiveness and ask that You teach me how to experience Your fruits. In the name Jesus Christ, Amen.
