"Aren't You Glad"

Scripture Reading:    

1 Timothy 3:16 (HCSBO)  And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great:   He was manifested in the flesh,     justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

 

Devotion And Meditation:

He was born in poverty, but a choir of angels praised Him with songs of His coming, that modern day scientists still cannot explain.  His birth defied the laws of biology and His death defied the laws of mortality.  No miracle is greater than His life and teaching. He owned no corn fields or fisheries, yet he spread a table for 5,000 and had bread left over.  He never stood on expensive carpeting, yet He walked on water and it supported Him, spoke it, and it obeyed Him.  His crucifixion was the crime of crimes, yet in God's eyes no lesser a price could have made your life possible.  When He died few mourned, yet God hung a black veil over the sun.  Those who crucified Him once trembled at what they had done, yet the earth shook beneath them.  Sin could not touch Him.  Death claimed His body.  The soil that was reddened with His blood could not claim His dust.  For over 3 years He preached the Gospel.  He wrote no books, built no cathedrals and seemingly no  financial resources.  Yet 2,000 years later He is still the central character of human history.  For every other job, God sent a man.  But in order to re use and recycle us, God became a man......................aren't you glad??
