"Say When"

Scripture Reading:
Esther 4:14 (HCSB)
If you keep silent at this time, liberation and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s house will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”

Devotional Reading:
As we journey through life, we are always beleaguered by a simple little word: WHEN.  When is the right time to throw the ball; when do I ask her to marry me; when do I decide on which college; or simply, how do I know when?  The Lord answers a great many questions for us in His word and through His presence, but a question of when has always been a troubling one.  When do I act or when is the right time for change?  Even the disciples wanted to know when will He return?  One question that newlywed couples are usually asked is, "when is the honeymoon over"?  In business the question is, "when is the honeymoon period over"?  Queen Esther was looking and searching and praying for the right time to act.  When is the right time?  When should I act?  When do I leave the dance?  It is always a matter of faith as we attempt to determine when?

When does a pastor move on to another church?  That is an easy answer, when you feel the Lord is no longer leading in your present ministry, when the fellowship has learned as much as they can from you, when you as the under-shepherd appointed by the Lord Himself is no longer respected!  Then like Esther, you know, you were there for a time such as this.  In your own life, you may ask the same questions of your value, your need or your calling.  Friend it is really quite simply, the when is not determined by others, it is determined by the Lord Himself.  If you want to know when, then get in tune with Him...I know in the past, when the Lord has pulled the plug and moved me onward, there was hurt!  Hurt within the family of God and lack of understanding, but as one looks back, we can see "for a time such as this"!  Some generals are war generals while others are peace-time ones...Our church today needs generals who are willing to go to war, take no prisoners, settle for no excuses and honor the Lord Jesus Christ!  When will the church rise up and take it's rightful place alongside of the Bridegroom...?  When will we assert our God given talents, abilities and rights in a world that is gone to hell?  When will preachers preach, when will deacons serve, when will the authority given to the Church be expressed through His shepherds without the interruption of men aligned to be servants!  Brother Mike, I pray for you as you deal with a situation where your deacons have assumed authority over you!  It is demonic and destructive...  I have been in your shoes and through the grace of God will not subject myself, my ministry, my family or His church through it again.  May you be blessed!  You are where you are because the Lord called you for a time such as this!  When Lord Jesus when will the sheep stop trying to be the shepherd?

Keep the Son in your eyes,
